The Vine | Homeschool Co-Op

The Vine

Thursdays | 2-4 PM

"Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing."
-John 15:5 (NLT)

Mission Statement:

The Vine comes together to create a space and environment for homeschool families to gather, educate, and grow in our faith.

We offer Bible based education through supplemental (extracurricular) classes. We want to encourage all  families in their journeys, whether they are experienced or new to homeschooling. To provide a place to connect with likeminded people & form friendships (both parents and kids) all while educating our children together.  We aim to be connected within our local communities, by providing education about homeschooling, but also, seeking to involve members of our community and surrounding communities as speakers/educators, while raising awareness to homeschooling.

CO-DIRECTORS

What is a CO-OP?

Co-op short for cooperative, means involving mutual assistance in working towards a common goal.

In case of, The Vine, a place for homeschool families to gather in a group setting to share in the supplemental education of their children (we do not teach core classes but rather extracurricular/enrichment subjects at this time).

A Co-op offers children a chance to learn in a group setting, develop friendships with (most often) like minded families, and in the case of, The Vine, Christian discipleship.

A Co-op also allows parents to share in teaching/educating, support and companionship, and resources.

Parent’s are required to STAY on site, have completed/approved background check, and to help out in various aspects of The Vine (teaching, setup, clean up, etc.). Parents/Guardians must register and sign a “Code of Conduct” each year before they are approved as members. All members will adhere to Cleveland’s First Baptist Church safety protocols and The Vine Code of Conduct.

How it works

Show up!

The Vine meets every Thursday 2:00 PM for Spanish 3:00 PM for Monthly Class Topic (Our 3:00 PM class topic changes monthly. We have had classes on acting, foraging, sewing, etc.) in the Children’s building of Cleveland’s First Baptist Church.

Paperwork

All families are welcome but we do ask to have a background check, signed code of conduct, and completed registration form signed yearly. You may also attend any class you choose but prior notice of attendance is necessary to prepare materials (this is done at registration).

Hang Out

All parents are required to stay on site with their children, and must pay any fees on their own, as if right now we do not charge for this CO-OP so any fees are from books, field trips, and supplies needed for class.

Volunteer

Since this program is parent led and mostly free we do ask that parents volunteer (clean up, set up, welcoming, teaching, or in other various ways).
